Install nolusd

Download the nolusd v0.8.6 release binary for Nolus mainnet, verify its sha256 checksum, install it on your PATH and confirm the version.

nolusd is the Nolus node daemon and CLI in one binary, so the same program runs the node, manages keys, queries chain state and signs transactions. Every release is published on the nolus-core releases page as a statically linked linux/amd64 binary, and the steps below install v0.8.6.

Release assets for v0.8.6

The v0.8.6 release publishes the binary together with a checksum, an archive and a download map for Cosmovisor:

AssetWhat it is
nolusdThe binary (linux/amd64, statically linked)
sha256sum.txtThe sha256 checksum of nolusd
nolus.tar.gzThe same binary as a tar.gz archive
v0.8.6_binaries.jsonDownload map in Cosmovisor format, used for automatic upgrades

For v0.8.6, the expected checksum of nolusd is 5aecd3328134db251f88eda791f8fe84ba619f5ec85cb383ca0c836a84c17a60.

Download the binary

Set the release version and download the binary together with its checksum file:

VERSION=v0.8.6
curl -LO https://github.com/nolus-protocol/nolus-core/releases/download/$VERSION/nolusd
curl -LO https://github.com/nolus-protocol/nolus-core/releases/download/$VERSION/sha256sum.txt

VERSION selects the release, so change it when you install a later one.

Verify the checksum

Because sha256sum.txt records the hash under the path the release was built in, nolusd-v0.8.6/nolusd, check the downloaded file against the hash itself:

echo "$(awk '{print $1}' sha256sum.txt) nolusd" | sha256sum -c -

When the file matches, the command prints nolusd: OK. Do not install a binary that fails this check.

Install the binary

Make the file executable and install it system-wide:

chmod +x nolusd
sudo install -m 0755 nolusd /usr/local/bin/nolusd

If you plan to run the node under Cosmovisor, keep the downloaded file as well, because Cosmovisor takes its own copy of it.

Confirm the version

Print the full version information to check that the installed binary is the release you verified:

nolusd version --long

The output includes the following lines:

name: nolus
server_name: nolusd
version: 0.8.6
commit: be610ea66cb9d9a17884dd37d87806a341323db0
build_tags: netgo,muslc
cosmos_sdk_version: v0.53.3-nolus-4

Point the CLI at mainnet

The CLI defaults to a local node and a placeholder chain id, so to query the chain or send transactions before your own node is running, set the client config to mainnet and the public RPC endpoint:

nolusd config set client chain-id pirin-1
nolusd config set client node https://rpc.nolus.network:443

With the binary in place, continue with Configure the node.
